Today started early after too little sleep, a common occurrence lately. I’ve been packing like a maniac for a week now and I still wasn’t done when the movers arrived. I continued to pack like a crazy person until the minute I had to leave for the hospital for my transfer. I left my husband to deal with the rest of the move on his own and went to the hospital with my mom. My mom happened to have planned a trip to visit NYC with a friend and it aligned with my transfer so she went with me. She lives in Florida so she has not been around in person for any of my previous treatments. She did visit when I was pregnant with the twins but other than that she has only heard about everything over the phone. It was really nice to have her there.
When I went in for the transfer they said I had one good looking 8 cell embryo. I don’t remember the exact grading the Dr. told me, I never do. I asked about the others and they said that they were still watching them. A couple were at 7 cells and one was lagging behind at 5 cells so we will see if any make it to freezing as blasts. They transferred the best looking one, the 8 cell and then since my bed and everything I own was being moved box by box out of my apartment, I went to my mom’s hotel room.
So here I am resting in her room while she and her friend are at a concert. I have acupuncture tomorrow and will be headed out to Pennsylvania to join my husband in our new apartment. So long New York City. When we meet again I will be a visitor and not a resident. You will always have a place in my heart but I am ready to move on. Thank you for the past 16 years of being my home.
